Colin Fields Music
Welcome, I'm glad you're here
I play music to make people feel something, to bring back a memory, or to just make the audience have fun in the moment. Great songs come from all types of music and artists and I try to bring them faithfully to life live.

Biography
Growing up in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, CA, Colin started playing in bands in his late teens. He played guitar and sang backup with This & That, a funk, alternative rock and ska 6-piece band that played all over the Sunset Strip and different venues throughout CA and NV. When This & That dissolved, the Alternative Rock Group, Darko was formed with past members of This & That and Colin became the lead singer and primary songwriter. They continued to play in and around Hollywood, but eventually disbanded. As career and family life became higher priorities, Colin spent a number of years playing privately at home. Eventually, he formed the 3-piece cover band, Sidd Finch, and they began to perform at various bars, clubs, and restaurants around LA. Being in a cover band gave a new reason to perform - making people smile as they heard songs they loved played with high energy and professional-level talent. It became fun to add new songs to the repertoire and as a 3-piece, Sidd Finch was able to take liberties with many of the arrangements while keeping the essence of each song. The band liked to play songs the way they would like to hear other musicians else play them. In 2015, Colin moved across the country to the suburbs of Boston, MA and Sidd Finch went on permanent hiatus. Joining a new band was not a priority, however, he started meeting lots of musicians and music fans of all types. Eventually he started playing live again, sometimes with others and sometimes solo with his acoustic guitar. Solo acoustic had never been a big part of Colin's performances because he was always in bands. But he found he loved the freedom and the rush of being completely exposed as a singer and guitarist. Playing as a solo performer requires being fully in the moment and making sure the audience is moved and entertained. Colin has developed a unique and ever growing song list of over 250 well-known songs that span many genres and artists with most of the selections from the '70's, '80's, and '90's. The only criteria is that the songs are great and they connect with the audience. Come listen and have some fun.
